We are looking for a talented and experienced Freelance Art Director to define and execute the artistic vision of our projects. You will be responsible for leading our art team, ensuring the visual coherence of our games, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to create compelling and immersive experiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and establish the project’s artistic vision (including style, tone, and visual language) to create a cohesive visual identity that drives game design and IP objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Creative Director to establish and communicate the project’s art direction.
  • Work closely with the Design and Programming teams to solve implementation challenges and ensure the artistic vision aligns with technical requirements and gameplay experience.
  • Assist in the creation of art references, mood boards, and style guides.
  • Review art production and game assets to ensure visual consistency and compliance with art direction.
  • Provide constructive feedback and mentorship to the art team.
  • Participate in the planning of art team tasks and resource allocation.
  • Supervise the technical performance of game assets in collaboration with the technical art team.
  • Advise on and approve marketing and promotional materials to ensure product consistency.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and new technologies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Art, Design, Animation, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in the video game industry, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership role.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates exceptional artistic skills in a variety of styles.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency with 2D and 3D art software (e.g., Photoshop, ZBrush, Maya, Blender).
  • Strong knowledge of video game production pipelines and game engines (such as Unity or Unreal Engine).

 

Desirable

  • Knowledge of VFX, animation, or lighting.
