Extensible Collection of Casual Games!
WackyLands is an extensible collection of casual games designed from the ground up for the Apple iPhone™ and iPod
touch™.
These
pick-and-play games are for casual gamers of all ages that want to
play something fast. They use the multi-touch display for precise
fingertip control and/or the accelerometer so you can tilt and turn to
control the action, making them really simple and fun to use as you
move thru the different difficulty levels, and have great humorous
graphics.
In WackyLands you can select from two different play
modes: Survival Mode, where you play challenges of each of the games in
the pack in random order, and Free Play Mode where you can pick which
game you would like to play, or spin the world to select a
game.
The local high scores and the leader board with online
integration scores will allow you to compete with your friends, near
and far.
WackyLands Green
WackyLands Green, the first game pack, will
soon be available on the Apple App Store. It includes 3 games:
Surfer’s Nightmare, Off with the UFO and Hop Hippo Hop.
WackyLands
Green is participating in the Independent Games Festival (IGF) Mobile
2009 in the Best iPhone Game category. The IGF was established in 1998
by the CMP Game Group to encourage innovation in game development. The
finalists in this category will be announced on January 26th.. More
information is available at the IGF Mobile web site.
A WackyLands Lite version will also be available soon
for free.
New WackyLands game packs will be released every few months with more games so you can add to your collection!
Game Description
In WackyLands you can select from two different play
modes, Free Selection and Survival, or the Leaderboards:
Free Selection Mode
- In this mode you can pick which game you would like
to play by spinning the world and tapping to select a game
- When
a game is selected you can choose to play in Score Attack mode, in
which the game becomes progressively more difficult but your reward in
points increases too
- Your Score Attack high scores for each
game will be saved and you can view them at any time. They can be used
to compete with your friends and family using the same device.
- You
can also choose to play in the Challenge mode, where you can view the
challenges for this game, and select to play one of these challenges to
complete it and collect trophies
Survival Mode
- You must win all the games to survive!
- You play challenges of each of the 3 Games
in random
order
- To start a Challenge, just press the start
button or
tap the flashing game icon
- When you finish a Lap the Games are
reordered and the
challenges changed for the next Lap
- The Score shows how many challenges you
have survived
thus far, and the Record shows your highest score to date
Leaderboards
Your
Score Attack high scores and nickname will be immediately submitted to
the
WackyLands Online Leaderboards if your device is online, or they will
be submitted the next time you access the Leaderboards on your device
while it is online. This will allow you to compete with other players
around the world.
On first use of the Leaderboards on your
device, you will be prompted for the nickname you would like to use on
the
WackyLands Online Leaderboards, which will then be associated to your
device.
WackyLands has the following key features:
